We were asked to bring in objects from our walk to the workshop. I found a few natural objects and one unnatural thing.
A shell
A long stick
2 short sticks
Leafs
A plastic mask
I started with the things that were easy and most obvious to me then advance and come up with new ways to assemble the object. I borrowed some rope from a friend and I used needles, metal wire, paper, water, wood, and glue from the workshop.
1. Put through hole
2. Pierceing
3. Glueing
4. Friction
5. Resistance
6. Twisting
7. Hanging
8. Wrap-around
9. Lay over
10. Knot
11. Lay on top
12. Gravity
13. Nailing
14. Skewering
15. Hooking
16. Loop
17. Hanging
18. Capping (such as put a hat on)
19. Weiving
20. Break to reassemble. Notice the insect on the stick, It is like I break its home and it tries to reach the other side.
21. Slot (junction, Intersection)
22. Wearing
23. Draping
24. Cling (paper fibres of wet toilet paper absorb water molecules, which cling to each other like a wet surface like weak glue) - Steve in the workshop
25. Sticking
26. Velcro "velcroing", (how the bark attaches to the paper)
Assemblage of found objects, or materials. They have widen my view of how to assemble materials in different ways. I would never have thought about clinging wet paper to a surface as a way to assemble them together or use velcro as an option. Another one was the skewering, it all came from trying different ways without thinking too much about it.
