The first task was drawing a detail of a part of the building Knight and Lee located in Portsmouth. I walked around in the big open space and found a big crack in the floor. That became my inspiration for the drawing.
By rethinking what I could add/adjust/take away, I began the process of sewing in the paper to see where it would take me. For my Interior Major Project, where I design and work with the building Knight and Lee, I have chosen four keywords that will help me along the way.
Tensile Structure, Mystery, Nature, Space
They helped me adjust the drawing with 3D elements and new materials. They all have a meaning to them:
Tensile Structure: The fabric that is being stretched in different ways.
Mystery: Imagine walking inside the structure excited to see what's around the corner or above you.
Nature: The Leaf and branches.
Space: The holes in the fabric allow you to look up to space.
