PVC has excellent strength, flexibility, translucency, and affordability compared to PTFE coated glass cloth and ETFE. The PVC coating is applied over polyester and includes UV stabilizers, fire retardant additives, and anti-fungicides. This type of fabric could last up to 20 years but it does not have the best sustainability factors. PVC contains chlorine, which has proven negative health effects on humans. Its chemical additives can also have a very negative effect on the recycling process of PVC materials. Because of the bad sustainability sides to the material I will not use it in my design.
