Site and securing

Updated: May 4, 2023

One main point for me was to design in a way where I don't have to attach anything my making some sort of foundation under ground. I want to keep all of the natural connections underground without any destruction or disturbance of it. I have tried to visit the site but it is currently closed off. I took some pictures on my initial walk with words and after that they closed the fence. I have manages too look in and been trying to observe the space from a distance.

As you can see my site is located in between two buildings, and I am not sure if any of them is currently is in use. It looks like one of them are or have been an art studio space of some sort and the other one is still a mystery. I know that queens hotel is one building away and the parking lot and garden is in the back. The yellow high rise building is residential.

So how would I figure out the problem of attaching my structure to the buildings. I have made a technical drawing of how it could be attached to the buildings. With time when the structure will slowly biodegrade these can be removed from the brick wall and be reused somewhere else.

Not to scale in the blog post.

I was inspired by these pictures and details of how you attach a wooden decking to a brick wall.
